what is the steam ablation of varicose vein?

Steam ablation is a novel treatment for managing varicose veins, including superficial and tortuous veins. The procedure involves using local anesthesia to ensure comfort and safety, and in most cases, you can go home after two hours of the procedure. Let’s understand more about the procedure!

    The Procedure

Steam ablation works by heating the varicose vein with steam up to 120°C. The doctor will first place a cannula in the varicose vein under ultrasound guidance. Once the vein is punctured, then the doctor will place a thin catheter through the cannula in your vein.

They will administer anesthesia around the vein to prevent pain and discomfort. After that, 120°C hot steam is introduced in the varicose veins.

The procedure is done without incision, therefore, there is no scarring after the procedure. Callidora is committed to providing the best steam-ablation of varicose veins procedure with a patient-centric holistic approach, delivering the maximum success rate.
